Nitrate Nitrogen is 10 ppm based on Drinking Water and is Fatal to Young Children.
Nitrate Nitrogen is Reduced to Nitrite by Reducing Bacteria in Vivo and Reacts with Hemoglobin in the Blood to Produce Methemoglobin, a Hemoglobin that has no Oxygen-carrying Function, Reducing the Ability to Carry Oxygen in the Blood to each Tissue and Resulting in Cyanosis.
